The McIntosh Apple is very popular.  It has a sweet / tart flavor.  Fruit has green speckled skin, soft flesh with an old-fashioned apple cider flavor.  McIntosh produces heavy crops that ripen around mid-September.  Crops persist  into early winter as this tree is hardy and can easily withstand colder temperatures.   Adaptable to a wide range of climates.
