This irrigation backflow preventer prevents contamination of your water supply. Back siphon can occur if negative pressure is present in the city mainline or if the mainline bursts or freezes.

This irrigation backflow preventer acts as a one way check valve and if the mainline pressure drops, the Vacuum Breaker’s internal check valve opens and dumps the water before entering your potable water source.

Most municipalities require backflow prevention devices at the beginning of most irrigation systems.
